Get paid to take surveys. Surveys for cash. Earn cash for taking online surveys.
Anyone who has looked at earning extra income has seen these ads or headlines on websites or in emails.
However, can you realistically earn money by getting paid to take surveys or are these ads just scams?
In fact there are companies that do pay you for taking surveys and unfortunately there are those organzations that promise
much but deliver little.
When it comes to sites that offer paid surveys you have two types that you will find. One type of site is actually operated by a
market research company that sends out surveys. The other site you generally see offers a list of sites, let's say a database of sites, that are looking for people
to do surveys. These sites usually charge you a fee to get this list of survey sites.
Market research companies require people to participate in focus groups, take online surveys and test products.
The market research company is hired by other companies who want to find out what the public thinks about existing products, new products,
advertising etc. It is up to the market research company to find ways to hear from the public and many of these companies use paid surveys to acquire
information for their clients.
Two examples of paid survey companies are Survey Savvy run by Luth Research and
American Consumer Opinion.
As with legitimate survey sites membership is free. You should not have to pay money to become a member of a site that offers surveys.
Survey companies will pay you varying rates to take a survey. Most pay between $2.00 and $30.00 for each survey
that you complete. Some may also pay you points that you can convert into merchandise or prizes.
Of course, you've probably seen the ads saying you can make $100.00 an hour or $200.00 an hour doing paid surveys.
This is highly unlikely given the fact that the vast majority of surveys probably pay in the $2.00 to $20.00 range.
Getting paid to take surveys for the most part is a good way of earning some extra income but it would be unrealistic
for the average person to think that you can make a taking surveys your full time job.
Your earnings will affected by where you live. Some paid survey sites accept international members and some only accept members from a certain country like
the U.S. or Great Britain. Also, another way to increase your earnings is if the survey company let's you receive income from your referrals. The basic principle
is that you invite people to a paid survey site you are a member of and have them sign up to be a member. Then when they take a survey you get
some income as well.
The second type of survey site really isn't a survey site but a site that offers you a list or a directory or a database of companies that pay you to take surveys for a fee.
Generally, they charge anywhere from $20.00 on up for their lists. They may have some value because they've done the work of finding these sites thus saving you time.
However, in many cases if you search the Internet you can find most of these sites yourself either directly or on other peoples websites for free.
Yes, you can get paid to take surveys. You probably won't make doing surveys your prime source of income but you can earn some extra cash.
Our advice is not to pay for any survey site information until you've checked out the free information on the Internet. Search the Internet, read blogs, read what people have to say on their own websites and
always read the paid survey companies FAQ's and general information before becoming a member.
